Do you want to learn about the structure of the earth and how rocks are made? Would you like to have the opportunity to engage with the work of geologists and discuss how geology impacts on our lives, society, and the environment? Earth & Environmental Science Stage 2 allows you to explore the rocks around us,identify minerals and have an understanding of how the earth works.
If you study Earth & Environmental Science at Stage 2, you can expect a number of field trips (including an extended trip) where you can investigate rock formations in their natural state and begin to identify different minerals. You will learn about how different rocks are formed and the processes that occur within the earth to give us the surface we have today. This course allows you to be able to recognise rocks from different time scales and have an understanding of how geology maps are used and created in the field. Earth & Environmental Science Stage 2 also allows you to understand how different types of geological structures can impact the civil designs we create and the importance of our resource industry in today's society so that we can maintain a sustainable future.
If you love Earth Science and are interested in the world around you, Earth & Environmental Science is the subject for you at Stage 2!
