This course provides students with an overview of the fashion design principles and techniques used to produce simple garments.

Overview
Students engage in a range of practical activities designed to emphasis the theoretical components of this course. Topics covered include; set up and operation of the sewing machine, qualities of fibres and fabrics, reading and interpreting patterns and sewing fashion components. Students apply the knowledge and skills developed to produce their own fashion garment or costume.
