The Certificate III in Screen and Media allows students to develop skills in the visual design process for screen, video games and other media. Students will have the opportunity to produce designs for characters, costume, props, vehicles, and environments - both in 2D and 3D, and in a simulated studio setting. Students will develop skills in collaboration and the creative design process that will allow them to work effectively in the creative arts industry and produce work suitable for a portfolio that will assist them in further study or work applications.
Some students may elect to also go on and complete a Certificate IV in Screen and Media. The Certificate IV requires an additional eight competencies completed in an additional one year subject.
Thebarton Senior College is working closely with CDW Studios to prepare students to work in the Entertainment Design industry. Our Certificate III and IV in Screen and Media aims at developing relevant industry skills and practices, preparing students for the next step in their career. In addition, it provides a pathway for further education such as the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Effects and Entertainment Design) at Flinders University run in conjunction with CDW Studios. Throughout our program, CDW Studios provide support through resources and running workshops for students. In collaboration with CDW Studios we identified the skills required to develop this innovative program to provide our students with greater opportunities and a head start in the industry.
