Artists flourished in Albania despite foreign occupation and frequent warfare. Several pieces by Onufri, a muralist of 16th century, have survived.

Kole Idromeno was the most famous artist of Albanian arts during 19th century who used patriotic themes in his paintings. Other painters like Zef Kolombi and Vangjush Mio created distinguished works.

The coming of democracy in the early 1990s allowed Albanian sculptors and painters to begin using cubism, surrealism and other modern art styles.

Albanian artists can enrich Australian society by bringing with them their skills and talent. Artists of two different cultures can contribute and share each other's ideas and make the paintings and everything else that produces more interesting art.
