SACE Stage 2 Outdoor Education Journeys and Activities
This year the SACE Stage 2 Outdoor Education class undertook a series of journeys in SAs wilderness. The first journey saw the class kayak around Hindmarsh Island and to Coorong National Park. Students developed practical skills and took on leadership roles to undertake a safe and sustainable journey.

As part of their second journey, students rock-climbed and abseiled at some of SAs climbing locations such as Morialta Conservation Park, Onkaparinga National Park and The Bluff. Students further built on their practical skills with an emphasis on developing sustainable practice and applying risk and safety management strategies.

For the culminating journey, students led their own self-reliant bushwalking journey to Mt Remarkable National Park in the Flinders Ranges, developing their own route plan and taking on the responsibility of organising all elements of the trip as independently as possible.

Over the course of the year, the class successfully built strong relationships with each other and the natural environments they visited while developing a range of transferable skills that will be of value as they begin the next chapters of their individual journeys.
