Guest Speakers
Sharing stories and inspiring our students
Guest Speakers
During this term, we have welcomed guest speakers to the college, who have shared their career and life stories with our students. These have included:

GARY MAGUIRE
Gary is the Senior Geospatial Intelligence Officer for the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. He inspired our students with possibilities and provided first-hand experience of the value of seizing opportunities that come along (sometimes unexpectedly). The surprising range of career opportunities offered through geospatial technologies (tools contributing to the geographic mapping and analysis of the Earth and societies) were introduced by Gary. Students were engaged and asked insightful questions.

CHRISTINE ROBERTSON
Christine is an entrepreneurial marketing and event/project professional with extensive experience in management. She shared her perspectives from working in a range of businesses and association settings. Christine encouraged our students in being ready to plan, develop and deliver projects on time and to be willing to go the extra mile in being the best they can be. She encouraged our students to venture past their comfort zone to achieve more than they first expect.

HAYDN MCCOMAS
'Never stop growing and learning' is Haydn's mantra. He was a passionate speaker and had his audience hanging on every word as he delivered key messages about using the special gifts each individual has inside them. Students were inspired as he connected with their aspirations and provided encouragement and hope that many paths can lead to success. He reinforced the importance of preparation, personal capacities and education, in laying down a career path.

BRIDGETT CAINS
Bridgett is a dancer and contortionist from Adelaide. Our students were in awe of the courage and determination Bridgett has shown along her exciting career path. Bridgett's life journey has taken her across Australia, USA, and Europe and into exciting careers in dance and circus schools, arts organisations and cabaret shows (including the Adelaide Fringe). Bridgett shared the importance of taking good care of our bodies in order to prolong our careers and well being. Students were encouraged to seize opportunities, work collaboratively and never give up.

We thank these speakers for taking the time to share their stories and inspire our students with possibilities for their future.
