Pi Day
On Thursday 14 March, students and staff celebrated International Pi Day, which is celebrated on this day around the world. Pi (Greek letter "π") is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant - the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter - which is approximately 3.14159. Pi Day is an annual opportunity for mathematics enthusiasts to recite the infinite digits of Pi, talk to their friends about mathematics, and to eat pie. In the library, we had a number of hands-on fun activities as well as some delicious pies to eat.
