2018 Student Drawing, Design and Fashion Exhibition
One of our students, Fatima, is currently exhibiting a fashion illustration in the 2018 Student Drawing, Design and Fashion Exhibition at the Art Gallery of SA as part of the SALA festival. Initially, Fatima attended a Fashion Illustration workshop in May presented by Learning at the Gallery, at the Art Gallery of South Australia, where she was selected to participate in the exhibition.

The Fashion Illustration workshop allowed Fatima to view and discuss works of art relating to fashion design from the Art Gallery's collection with Curator of European and Australian Decorative Arts, Rebecca Evans. Led by South Australian artist, Sue Ninham, Fatima gained insights into the practice of a professional artist, and then created her own fashion illustrations from a model in mixed media, exploring observation, technique and the use of line and tone.

On Friday 3 August the exhibition was opened by Lisa Slade, Acting Co-Director, Art Gallery of South Australia in which Fatima celebrated her exhibition opening. Fatima's illustration titled 'Luck Outfit' was produced using Charcoal and Conté on brown cartridge paper. This exhibition is on display in the Radford Auditorium at the Art Gallery until Sunday 26 August. Please visit the Art Gallery website (http://www.artgallery.sa.gov.au/agsa/home/Learning/Tours/StudentDrawingExhibition) for opening times and to download the exhibition catalogue. As this is Fatima's first exhibition, please help to celebrate this exciting milestone with her by visiting the exhibition and congratulating her on her achievement.
