Rotaract Club for Global Peace - Australia at Thebarton Senior College

This Club was chartered on 16 June 2008, originally sponsored by the Rotary Club of Thebarton. The club is now sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kidman Park.

What is Rotaract?

  • Rotaract is an international program for younger people and membership is open to all young people aged 16-30 years who want to make a difference.
  • Rotaract is a part of Rotary International which is a worldwide network of volunteers who believe in "service above self".
  • There are more than 7,500 Rotaract Clubs in 150 countries with 170,000 members known as Rotaractors in more than 150 countries.
  • Rotaract clubs enable Rotaractors to grow personally and professionally, address community needs and promote international understanding through friendship, service and volunteer work.
  • Rotaract builds leaders and leaders build strong clubs and effective programs.
  • Rotaract enables members to take leadership roles including President, Vice President and Secretary and to gain understanding of meeting procedures and protocols.
  • Rotaractors may be selected to attend a RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) camp each year. The camp is a 7 day residential camp and is fully funded by Rotary Clubs. To be considered for this camp you must be a member of the Rotaract Club at Thebarton Senior College.
  • Rotaractors can become involved in many community activities to support groups and children who are less fortunate or those who are suffering through natural disasters.
  • Meetings are held every two weeks at lunch time.
  • All students in the College are encouraged to become members.
