Fashion Accessories provides a flexible framework for self-directed and innovative learning, using a variety of materials and tools. Students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address a range of challenges from the design stage through to the construction stage. Student projects could include homeware decorations, wall hangings, trinket dishes, jewellery stands, sun catchers, earrings, wire wrapping, charms and/or embroidery/tapestries.

Course Content
Student complete three folios. Two folios are skills-based and include researching specific materials of their choice, how other practitioners have used them, safety considerations, and experimenting with techniques to create a product. In the third folio, students create a series of marketable items that fit a chosen theme. They investigate and experiment with a variety of materials and techniques to suit unique designs and document the processes used.

Students use time outside of class hours to pursue and complete research.
