Game Development provides a flexible framework that encourages students to be creative, innovative and enterprising as they apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills and incorporate technologies to address game design and creation. Students produce games and game assets that allow them to demonstrate the knowledge and skills associated with the manipulation of digital communication media.

Overview
Game Development A
Students develop their knowledge, understanding and skills across a broad area of the game industry. They investigate and build skills in game conceptualisation and development, game design, storytelling in games, game art, strategy and marketing.

Students use industry standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Unreal Game Engine as they research, design and build games and game assets for their chosen genre and platform (eg video games, board games, card games).

Game Development B
Students develop their knowledge, understanding and skills in the use and application of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) within the game development industry. They investigate and build skills in using AR/VR (XR) and AI to enhance the gaming experience, design interfaces, game conceptualisation and development and project management.

Students use industry standard software as they research, design and build games and game assets for their chosen genre and platform (eg video games, board games, card games).
