The Gateway 2 Film and Television course has been designed for Year 10 and 11 students interested in the creative arts industry, with a focus on production for screen. In this one day per week course, students develop skills and knowledge in the pre-production, production and post-production stages for film and television, from concept to release.

Students will explore different roles in film and television production, and develop their understanding of media languages and conventions through theory and practical learning. They will explore, analyse and reflect on film and television products and develop technical and interpersonal skills to plan, shoot, edit and exhibit their own work.

This course provides students with foundational knowledge and skills to undertake further studies in screen and media through practical learning and experience in a simulated work environment. It provides a pathway for students who wish to work in this industry in the future.

Course Content
Students learn to plan, shoot, edit and exhibit a short film or television product through practical experience in pre-production, production and post-production. They also conduct critical exploration of film and television products and interact with media technologies to refine their own production.
