This course provides students with a solid preparation for further studies in Design and Technology and vocational courses in building and construction and metal trades.

Course Content
Students will learn about workplace health and safety in trades areas, including Safe Operating Procedures and Job Safety Analysis.

Students will develop a skills folio and resume, and the practical, writing and mathematical skills to prepare them to undertake practical tasks in the building and engineering industries, ie:

  • Carpentry, concreting and gyprocking
  • Metal fabrication, welding and metal machining
Students work independently and prepare and record data and procedures.
