Students understand the role of the six nutrients in the body, and undertake investigations that explore the relationship between diet, lifestyle and health.

Additionally, students examine a range of factors that influence food choices, and evaluate a range of programs and strategies available to help consumers make informed food choices. Finally, students investigate methods of food production and distribution, and consider how these methods affect the quantity and quality of food available.

Throughout the course, students are encouraged to apply core learning in the context of their own lives to reinforce or modify dietary and lifestyle habits to maximise health outcomes.
