Students complete two skills-based folios, each focused on building and demonstrating technical knowledge in areas such as manual camera control, lighting, composition, and digital manipulation. Each folio includes photographic experiments, reflective analysis, and final resolved images.
Design Process and Product
Students plan, develop, and produce a self-directed photographic product. This includes:
- Researching and analysing relevant photographers and techniques
- Developing a concept suited to a target audience
- Planning and refining image shoots and editing workflows
- Documenting production processes and evaluating the final outcome
Part 1 - Resource Investigation
Students research and test photographic materials, tools, or techniques (eg camera settings, lenses, lighting gear, file types, or print materials), and report on their suitability for use in their own work.
Part 2 - Issues Exploration
Students investigate an ethical, legal, economic, or sustainability issue related to the photographic industry or their product.
