Students develop a range of photographic techniques and skills, using digital cameras and Adobe Photoshop to process and produce images. They actively research, investigate and critically analyse work from other photographers, test different equipment and materials and define issues related to the photographic industry.

Specialised Skills Tasks
Students develop and produce two folios, documenting the skill development and knowledge of camera techniques and handling, manual control, composition, lighting, and digital manipulation.

Design Process and Product
Students design and produce a self-directed product that showcases their best photographic skills and techniques for a specified audience. They produce a folio where they research and analyse other practitioners work and products, and plan and develop their work. They problem-solve and evidence production processes and design/product ideas, and evaluate the effectiveness of their processes and final product.

Resource Study
Part 1 - Resource Investigation
Students investigate, analyse and test the functional characteristics and properties of two or more materials or components, such as camera equipment, camera settings, printing quality of paper, or resolution of image. They report on how this research and testing affects their selection for use in the creation of their product.

Part 2 - Issues Exploration
Students investigate and analyse any ethical, legal, economic and or sustainability issues related to their product.
