Course Description

This course builds on the foundations that students have gained through completion of the Doorways 2 Construction program. It is composed of six units of competency from the CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry.

Students undertaking this program develop further skills in this specific industry stream to gain a deeper understanding of the demands of the workplace and/or to inform further study options.

This course is delivered by ATEC (RTO 0022) at Thebarton Senior College.

CPCCCA2002B Use carpentry tools and equipment
CPCCCM2008B Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding
CPCCPB3001A Fix standard plasterboard wall sheets
CPCCCA3013A Install linings, panelling and mouldings

Pathways

This course provides basic skills and knowledge for further study or work in carpentry.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of CPCCOHS2001A Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry is a pre-requisite for this course specified in the training package.

Students must also satisfy the school and the RTO admission requirements and achieve satisfactory results in a language, literacy and numeracy assessment.

Students must have completed a Certificate I in Construction or Certificate II in Construction to enrol in this course.
