Course Description

This course provides students with knowledge and skills to enhance their entry-level employment prospects for apprenticeships, traineeships or general employment in an electrical-related workplace.

There is a strong emphasis on safety and students develop sound workshop practices through the application of a range of foundational skills in the use of tools, equipment and resources to complete electrical projects.

This course is delivered by PEER (RTO 45744) at PEER's training facility at 1042 Port Road, Albert Park.

CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
UEECD0009 Carry out routine work activities in an energy sector environment
UEECD0052 Use routine equipment/plant/technologies in an energy sector environment
UEECD0021 Identify and select components, accessories and materials for energy sector work activities
UEECD0046 Solve problems in single path circuits
UEECD0038 Provide solutions and report on routine electrotechnology problems
UEERE0021 Provide basic sustainable energy solutions for energy reduction in residential premises

Elective Units

UEEEC0060 Repairs basic electronic apparatus faults by replacement of component

Pathways

This course provides basic knowledge and skills for further study or work in electrical, refrigeration and data related working environments.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for this course specified in the training package; however, students must satisfy the school admission requirements and achieve satisfactory results in a language, literacy and numeracy assessment.

Eligibility Criteria
Supported by Government of South Australia. Participant eligibility criteria apply.

While enrolled in a school, students may have access to a maximum of one Certificate II course and one Certificate III course.
