Seven of our students recently participated in a short course in Civil Construction run by Civil Train. The students completed practical learning and assessment activities at the company's Burton site, gaining experience in preparing the site using small civil plant and equipment by filling, spreading and compacting the area before laying pavers. They were also involved in a project at Henley High School, where they were involved in laying pavers to create paths around the school.

The students enjoyed the opportunity to explore this industry. Most of them have indicated that they would like to continue on to employment in this area, and will be offered an apprenticeship in the near future.
