World Environment Day
World Environment Day
Our World Environment Day event this year was held in the Learning Hub during lesson 3 on Thursday 16th of June. The aim of the event was to showcase our commitment to being a UN Global Peace School and our college's value of Sustainability.

The event showcased student work in the areas of environmental awareness, sustainability and supporting communities. During the event, students offered presentations, led activities, and shared their ideas with each other on how to recycle right, reduce plastic waste and grow a vegetable garden. Students from New Arrivals Program (NAP) 323 and 324 presented to others about their involvement in the projects "Helping Hands", "Solar Buddy" and "Rebuilding Communities".

During the event, participants also learned about the importance of plants and pond invertebrates with some interactive activities. They also could learn about what is happening in the area of Sustainability around the college by going on the TSC Sustainability tour.

Other activities during the week included:

- Wednesday: the Student Environment Group planted Native shrubs and ground covers in the STEM plaza area
- Friday: students were able to interact with ring-tailed possums and other Australian native animals, while listening to the Education Officer from the Nature Education Centre, discussing the importance of habitat for these beautiful creatures

Well done and thank you to all students and staff involved!
