YEAR 12 INDUCTION SEMINAR
MAKING A GREAT START TO THE YEAR
YEAR 12 INDUCTION SEMINAR
On Thursday 18 February, Year 12 students and their mentor teachers met at the Thebarton Community Centre for their induction day. The half-day program was an opportunity to provide important information to students as they commence their final year of schooling. Information was presented by the school's Wellbeing Leaders and SACE Coordinator, along with a keynote address by Kirrilie Smout, Director of Developing Minds. Kirrilie has extensive experience working as a psychologist with adolescents and young people and her address focussed on helping students to develop skills to create better study habits.

Our Wellbeing Leaders provided information about the supports available to students at the college, key dates and processes that young people need to be aware of as well as how young people can look after themselves during this important year of their study. The program also included a visit from Flinders University, The University of Adelaide, University of South Australia and TAFE SA, to provide information to students about future study pathways. Students were also able to spend some time with their mentor teacher and received some helpful advice from them about how to best manage the demands of Year 12 study.
