New Arrivals Program Graduation
What an entertaining and moving ceremony
New Arrivals Program Graduation
"What an entertaining and moving ceremony!" remarked Eva Kannis-Torry, Principal of Thebarton Senior College.

The NAP Graduation Ceremony was held on Friday 30 June, a ceremony run by students for students. Nearly 100 students from 6 New Arrivals Program classes were presented certificates. Some of the students also achieved a swimming certificate.

Paul Lian Zi Mang, an ex-NAP student graced the occasion as a guest speaker. He told his story of arriving in Australia as a refugee and then successfully settling in. After facing all the hardships, he now owns a commercial cleaning business with 30 employees. What an inspiring story for our students!

Our two wonderful MC's Zainab Alhamad and Abdirisak Abdullahi sailed the ceremony through to the end with outstanding presentations, speeches and performances from the TSC band. Aye Seng Kham and Diing Nyok, were the two splendid speakers who reflected upon their time in NAP. Marta Chorbajian played the piano and Djembe Drumming entertained the audience with their magnificent drumming session. All the musicians came together to finish with "Hallelujah" and the song "I Am, You Are, We Are Australian"

It was a real celebration, a show of appreciation and deep respect for teachers, support staff and other students.
