INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY FORUM
Building the Future Together
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY FORUM
On Wednesday 2 March, eight young women from the New Arrivals Program attended a Forum at the Adelaide Festival Centre to celebrate International Women's Day, organised by AMRC (Australian Migrant Resource Centre). The main theme was 'Building the Future Together'.

The event was launched by the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia. The speakers explained the importance of the contribution of migrant and refugee women to build a safe and successful future together. In small groups, we discussed the problem of racism faced by migrant and refugee women in the community and COVID-19 impact on women's and children's safety. We shared our ideas and suggested solutions which could encourage and help refugee women in Adelaide.

We enjoyed the forum and gained lots of experience and confidence by listening to the speeches and having the chance to meet other young women.
